To protect ourselves from liability and to inform our visitors of PrisonEducation.com’s governing policies, we’ve promulgated this “Terms and Conditions of Site usage” policy. This policy is as follows:
US Law: PrisonEducation.com complies fully with the Communications Decency Act, CAN-SPAM Act of 2003, and Federal and State law. We attempt to keep ourselves abreast of all new developments in each area and to implement changes required by each as revisions are made to legislation.
Journalism Shield Laws: The staff of PrisonEducation.com consider ourselves to be journalist’s and advocates of the highest caliber. As such, we consider our commenter’s, correspondents, bloggers, and contacts to be sources and thus protected under journalism shield laws. We will never disclose a source’s identity unless compelled to do so by court order (e.g. warrant, judge’s order, etc.)
Site Availability: PrisonEducation.com strives to be online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, and 365 days a year. Though, we rely on our Squarespace site hosting to do so. Squarespace is a very reliable web host. As a matter of fact we have never had a problem with site availability since hosting with them.
It should also be noted that we subscribe to a high level of service through Squarespace so that we receive unlimited bandwidth, as much space as we need, and SSL security among other monitoring services.
Link Responsibility: PrisonEducation.com is not responsible for links which lead to external sites. While we attempt to only link to high quality sites, we cannot be responsible for the continued availability of stable content of external sites. Likewise, we are not responsible for links contained within comments by our visitors.
